I hate wind!

Le vent! Je le desteste! I hate the wind! I didn't know what wind was until today, but oh, how I hate it! I was trying to relax on the veranda while my human was doing her work. Actually, this happened because I wasn't letting her work. I wanted to play with that new laser pointer my daddy got me, but she wasn't having it. So I got some relaxation time on the veranda until this horrible wind thing started! It was terrible! Things were blowing in the air and getting stuck to my fur. It was hideous. Other things were flying through the air and onto my veranda making it a mess. I ran from my corner overlooking the courtyard to the door, crying as loud as I could for my human to let me in! Then I retreated to the bathtub for my safety.

I baked a cake!

For Father's Day, I instructed my human that we were to make a vegan lemon cake for my Grandpa Rich. Not only do I help my human in the office, but I help in the kitchen too! This is what I looked like after sifting the flour for our vegan cake. I'm a hard worker as you can tell. My Grandpa Rich loved his cake, as did the entire family. My human momma, Heather, and my human daddy, Jon, later finished it all up back at home. For all my hard work baking the cake, my grandparents let me run wild in their house! There's so much to explore! It was so fun. I was a little annoyed at how much time my humans spent outside in the pool swimming with those silly black labs, but at least I had the house to myself. I kind of want to be friends with those dogs, but I'm not sure about them yet. My uncle Jimmy didn't want to play with me again, but he's warming up to me. He said we could kick it when I grow up and he'll teach me exciting cat things I don't know about yet.

My favorite brand of food is Pet Promise

I always instruct my human to buy me Pet Promise cat and kitten food at Whole Foods, Sprouts, Sunflower Market, Henry's or Hi-Health. It's tasty and healthy! My human is more than happy to comply because her mother died of CJD, which is the human form of BSE, or mad cow disease, so she understands the importance of eating foods that don't put you at risk for this fatal neurological illness.

My human told me that BSE is found in rendered animal fats and proteins and has in incubation period of 5-40 years, depending on whom you are talking to about it. Then she told me these materials commonly make it into conventional pet foods! I don't want to be at risk for a disease that can kill me! I plan to be around for a good 20 years, so we make sure I get to eat safe kitty food. I especially enjoy the wet foods like the cans of salmon and ocean fish, but I get the dry food every day. I'm so lucky to have a human that cares so much about me and the food I eat. I'm also happy I never have to eat food that contains rendered animal fats, proteins and spinal tissue. Try it for yourself and insure your own safety!

Take that! And That!

I am kickin' some cactus ass! I could play with this toy all day long!

I like food, I like cuddling, but I LOVE toys!

Certainly I must have the best grandparents in the world. They understand that the way to my heart is with TOYS! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for my new cactus!

Look at the cool cactus toy my grandparents got me!

Look at this cool new toy my grandparents got me! It's a big, green cactus with catnip in it! It's so freakin' awesome! I've been wrestling with it all day!

Mothra for breakfast

I am a ferocious beast. I battled and killed Mothra this morning and ate him for breakfast. You should have seen this moth -- it was huge! Only a ferocious beast such as myself can attack such a bug and live to tell the tale. I even tortured him for a while before I made my mercy killing. And my human, Heather, saw the whole thing. Now she knows what a vicious, predatory kitten I am. She's a vegan too, so I know she didn't like seeing what a killer I can be but I know deep down inside she was proud that I am such a tough guy. And now she knows her Gap sweaters are safe. So I think I've more than earned my keep. Mothra was my second bug this week -- I killed a beetle the other day. It was my first bug! Not a bad week for this hunter.

My lust for carbohydrates got me in trouble.

I thought my human was asleep. Or she at least seemed busy enough to be ignoring ME. I know! The nerve! So I thought it was safe to break into that loaf of fresh, French bread on the kitchen counter. Well, my human with her bat ears heard me rustling the bag and I got into trouble. I only got a few bites in before getting caught! I guess I'm off the carbs again...sigh.

Hello, my name is Alcatraz and this is my blog.

I am a six-month-old black kitten living in Phoenix, Arizona. (Yes, I know it's never a good place to be caught being black). I have a very nice, blonde human named Heather who takes dictation and types up this blog for me. I have been really busy lately knocking her stereo speakers off the shelf. I have also been following her everywhere. Today, we baked vegan strawberry banana muffins! I was trying so hard to help; I just can't understand why she's always swatting me away from the stove. The muffins still came out great even though she refused my help. I suppose I will spend this evening getting into more mischief. Maybe Heather will be careless enough to leave the bathroom door open so I can crawl into the drawer again...gosh, how I love doing that!
